Now in its 84th year, the Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region is one of the longest annual exhibitions in the country. The exhibition features one-of-a-kind works from artists who live and create within a mile radius of the Capital Region, and this year at The Hyde Collection, many of the pieces address issues related to our changing.   In this year’s Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region, guest juror Victoria Palermo interprets submissions and develops an exhibition that responds to the issue of environmental change.

In April , Associate Professor of Graphic + Media Design Sean Hovendick, MFA, received the Juror’s Choice Award for work he exhibited in “Transformations,” a juried exhibition at Eastern Kentucky University in work was also accepted for “Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region” at the University Art Museum at the University at Albany; The Photo Review’s 34th Annual. “Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region” opens on Saturday and runs through Dec. 4. “Picasso, Braque & Léger” will be on exhibition through Jan. 5, There will be an opening celebration.

The Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region exhibition (AMHR) is one of the longest standing juried exhibitions in the country, with a history of over 80 years. Artists living and creating within a mile radius of the Capital Region are invited. The " Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region Juried Exhibition" is exactly what a Regional should be.

It is diverse, beautiful, interesting and contemporary. And most of all, it is representative, a true cross-section of the artistic activity in the area. Now in its 80th year, the Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region (MHR) juried art exhibition is recognized as the longest running show of its kind in the entire country.

To commemorate this 80th exhibition, The Hyde Collection will sell a special catalogue featuring all artworks selected for the show starting December 2nd at a Book Launch : Joe Legault. The Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region highlights the finest works of contemporary artists working along the Mohawk-Hudson corridor.

This is the first year that The Hyde Collection will host the exhibition, which rotates among three venues. In this year’s Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region, guest juror Victoria Palermo interprets submissions and develops an exhibition that responds to the issue of environmental change.
